Introduction

The first week that Curtin Uni made the subject NET 11 available I logged onto the Oasis site and set up username and password. I posted my introduction on the discussion board and also sent Cynthia an email, as requested.

During the week I spent a lot of time browsing through all the information on Curtin University in general and then exploring the Web CT Site.

I have found the discussions very interesting, but at the same time, extremely time consuming. I added all the msn addresses and have chatted with several other students.

I am realising that I am going to have to use very efficient time management/organisational skills to manage the course. The discussion board is very interesting, however I feel a lot of time is wasted re-reading posts. The important posts which I want to refer to later I am leaving marked as "unread". I have made a rule not to re-read posts which are marked "read".
I am concerned about 'missing something important' in the posts and therefore feel the need to read each one in detail. (Although I'm beginning to skim for important information).

Having said all of this - I am thoroughly enjoying the beginning of my course. I have welcomed all the other student's comments and I am feeling very positive towards the new challenge ahead of me!
